The Language of Labels: How to Read Care Instructions for Lingerie Made Just for You

Hand Wash or Delicate Cycle at 30°C

Whether made of silk, Tencel, cotton, or lace, moonlit lingerie reacts to touch. It merely needs warm care, not hot water. The first step in making sure your favorite set lasts a long and beautiful life is to hand wash it or use a mild machine cycle (without spin!).

No Bleach — Ever

Similar to a toxic relationship, bleach may appear to be beneficial, yet it only does harm. It weakens the structure of the cloth, brittleness of the lace, and fading of your mood’s color. “No,” we say. Additionally, your underwear reads, “Thank you.”

No Tumble Drying

A dryer’s heated air distorts form, destroys flexibility, and warps cups.  Let your lingerie dry at its own pace — on a towel, in the shade. It maintains its actual essence in this way.

Don’t Wring or Twist

• Symbol: Twisted line with an X

Every boning line and seam is positioned with care. Twisting throws off the fabric’s equilibrium. Instead, gently press water out with a towel — like a warm hug after a bath.

Ironing — Only If Absolutely Needed

• Symbol: Iron with one dot

Ironing is not necessary for the majority of our materials, but if it is, use low heat. No steam. There is no pressure. Only a little bit.

No Dry Cleaning

Moonlit isn’t designed for solvents or machines. It’s specifically designed for you. The lingerie’s actual softness and shape are revealed when it is submerged in water, carefully hand-washed, and then let to dry in a calm environment.
